Surgery Outcome

Kara is now out of surgery. The nurses are getting her situated before we are allowed to go back. It went as well as possible. Her lower left lung (the left lung has 2 lobes) was removed - the CCAM was within the lobe and basically was the whole lobe. The upper lobe, amazingly enough, looked good size and well developed (it had been squished teh entire pregnancy so this is a huge praise. Also a HUGE praise that the CCAM was not within the upper lobe. It is not good developmentally - for growth - for an entire lung to be removed). Lots to be thankful for. Her vital signs looked good throughout the procedure. She will have a rough next few days with higher ventilator settings and more sedation (due to pain) but after that we anticipate improvement.

We are setting our minds for a 1 month hospital stay from here, so we'll see if that's what God has in mind for us, as well. Thank you for your continued support and prayers.

Praise the LORD! We will continue praying, but so glad to have a mass-free Kara!
