Around the House

Connor loves to kiss "baby".

It's been warm (for Washington), so we're just trying to stay cool!

We still have to get our work on the computer done!

First attempt at taking care of both kids at one time.

Connor's new book. And his new hobby - sitting on his chair.

Grandma Dot

The kids enjoyed Grandma Dot's visit. One of the highlights was raspberry picking (apparently Connor ate a TON of them =) We are extremely grateful for all her help while we were recuperating and learning about life with more than one child!

The Putman Family

Our new little girl, Katie

Grandma Dot and Connor

Connor enjoyed lounging on the hospital bed. He did a (pretty) good job of being "gentle". He is such a lovebug!

Jeremy's Mom, Grandma Dot, came for the week to take care of Connor while we were in the hospital and to take care of us now that we're home. She is doing a GREAT job, and we are SO thankful for her.

Connor has been SO SWEET with Katie. He imitates her sounds (although not her crying, praise the Lord!). So we say "what does Katie say" and he grunts. He asks "baby?" if he hears her or if we go to see her, and he gives her gentle pats on the blanket and kisses on the head. What a treasure.

Special Visitors

Papa came and visited both nights (Mon/Tue) at the hospital. He kept hoping Katie would open her eyes (but no luck).

Our friends from church, the Ryan family.

More friends from church, Anastacia and her daughter, Sarah. Connor happened to be there when Sarah came, and boy was he happy to see his girlfriend ;)

To the Hospital & Delivery

Our precious little Katie (Katherine Gail) arrived July 13. We had a scheduled C-section so we were able to take some "before" shots of Meg's tummy at its biggest (It felt bigger this time, but photo evidence suggests it was bigger with Connor). Katie was 7 lb, 7 oz and 19 inches long. She was (and still is) extremely healthy. Praise the Lord!

Thomas the Train

Papa (Meg's Dad) and Jeremy took Connor to go see Thomas the train. We have a tourist train trip near our town that takes a 30 min. scenic ride. A few weekends out of the year, they set up a whole carnival atmosphere with a real Thomas (although it's a caboose instead of an engine). Connor enjoyed himself. As you can see, he's thankful we live in the Northwest - it doesn't take much for him to get very warm!

Haircut

Not the first "real" haircut, but the first major one. Connor did pretty well (the jury is still out as to whether or not Meg did well).

Kissing Girls and Fixing Toys

That's our boy! This is Connor's friend, Sarah. They are just perfect for each other, don't you think? (Connor has recently learned to kiss with a "smack" and just loves to kiss and hug).

We love the pool

It got up to a whopping 80 degrees so we had to beat the heat! A side note, Katie (in tummy) and Connor weight a LOT less in water. Hooray for buoyancy!

Loving the rain (well, the puddles and gutter water)

Putman Update

As you well know (if you have visited our blog anytime in the past 6 months) we haven't updated in a while! Just so you know, I kind of figured that if I don't hear any "hey, why haven't you updated your blog?" then it doesn't need to be on the top of the priority list (so give me a heads up if you'd like more frequent updates, and I'll move it toward the top =)

We have spent the last 6 months being pregnant (well, Meg has been!), working on the house (lots of tiling, re-roofing, fixing a water main leak, redoing bathroom plumbing, and getting the last of the doors painted - 3 coats each... yikes!), moving Connor into his "big boy" room and getting the nursery ready for our precious Katie. Jeremy has been working full time, Meg has been working at Starbucks as well as (praise the Lord) doing a lot of tutoring. We are thankful to see Meg's tutoring expand and hope to see it do so for next year as well.

We praise the Lord for Connor's growth and development. He understands SO MUCH. He "puts toys away" "close the door" and can do many other things we ask him. He (mostly) does them right away as well. Hooray!

In the latest news, Meg's veins are causing her to have a c-section to deliver Katie. We are thankful to be at peace with this decision (and are VERY thankful to know in advance). Please be praying that Connor will adjust to not being able to be picked up by Mommy! Since he just started walking at 17 months, he is accustomed to being picked up a lot until recently (even now, it is tedious to walk him from a Drs. appt through a parking garage as Meg did yesterday to "practice" having him walk).

Katie is scheduled to arrive July 13th. We are so blessed to have Jeremy's Mom coming to stay and help for a week, Meg's Mom will be here after that, and Jeremy will take 1 week off work and work 1 week from home. Thank you all for your love and support.

Connor Pictures

Connor has always been very good with his hands (dexterity). He likes to clip - anything - from his booster seat buckles to his stroller, this will keep him occupied for a long time. He's probably been doing this since January. Another thing he's been doing for a LONG time is "writing" He holds his pencil and pen just like Mommy and Daddy and loves to use Mommy's planner to write and to put the pencil inside the spiral part. We are excited to see him continue to develop this.

We love the outdoors!
